And to @maria.teixidor, thank you for leading such a powerful conversation with @mariaeugeniagay and @letscanales. Together they shared the experiences, people, and moments that have shaped their journeys, and it was nothing short of inspiring.
To the incredible artists @chrismeshel and @akainusound, thank you for bringing your creativity and expression, filling the evening with soul and energy.
We also want to extend our deepest gratitude to the women in the room and beyond, who continue to open doors and create opportunities by fearlessly standing up, and sharing their stories and support.

As we countdown to our next @conversationsforthecurious at @sohohouse, we’re honoured to welcome our first speaker, and newest member of the collective, @mariaeugeniagay.
A jurist and public servant deeply committed to justice, equality, and human rights, Maria earned her Law degree from Abat Oliba CEU University, where she also captained the futsal team, learning to lead through cooperation and trust. She trained in Mediation and Negotiation at @harvard, has served as Dean of the Barcelona Bar Association and Vice President of the Spanish Bar Council, was Delegate of the Spanish @governcat (2022), and is now Deputy Mayor of Barcelona. @forbes_es named her one of the 100 most influential women in Catalonia.

These are values that prove essential in life and, above all, in leadership. A community like @__almaslibres has the power to accompany girls and young women along this journey, showing them that every effort, every set back, and every triumph prepares them to lead with strength, empathy, and vision. To invest in sports is to invest in a generation of women leaders who believe in themselves and who are ready to transform the world with confidence and freedom.”

As we start the countdown to our next Conversations for the Curious on 25th September at @sohohouse, we’re excited to hear more from the fearless women joining us.
Meet @chrismeshel, a multidisciplinary artist and licensed U.S. attorney who relocated to Barcelona in 2023 to center her life around creative expression and meaningful connection.
Her work bridges the analytical and the intuitive, exploring identity, healing, and the Black experience through mixed media, poetry, and textiles. She has exhibited internationally and often speaks on themes ranging from mental health and creative healing to immigration and cultural belonging.
Christy will be performing a live spoken word set at 20:15 at our next @conversationsforthecurious.
